CONFIDENTIAL INVESTIGATIONS was originally founded by Jerry Briggs, Sr. in 1991.  Mr. Briggs had a law enforcement career starting as a patrolman with the Utica Police Department.  He concluded his career as a decorated detective with 27 commendations including a commendation from the City of Utica, and a proclamation from the New York State Assembly.  He then took his experience and skills and began serving the private investigative needs of Central New York.  His professional reputation grew over the years until he eventually turned the business over to the present successor David B. Spencer.  

Mr. Spencer brings with him over 30 years as an Investigator and Senior Investigator with the State of New York, corporate security and private investigation.  In addition to his investigative training and experience he has vast experience with fire cause and origin.  He has had his Private Investigators license since 1989.  

At the present time Confidential Investigations is licensed by the State of New York, bonded and insured as a Private Investigations agency that has successfully handled criminal cases, up to Capitol cases and homicide, Civil Cases, Workers Comp, Insurance Fraud, Fire Cause and Origin, Arson, background, pre-employment and asset investigations.  These cases have ultimately been presented in local, county, state and federal courts.  

Over the years the agency has continued to grow and it services many major insurance carriers, attorneys and the general public.  The agency continues to handle cases south to Florida and west to California, with the same dedication and professionalism as its founder.  Our approach to investigations is to handle each investigation on a case by case manner maximizing its cost effectiveness and efficiency.
